In 2022, the Transition Fund’s winning projects have been designated in several waves. The setec Foundation has not pledged any specific sums, but has chosen to concentrate its efforts on projects in Lebanon and Madagascar, due to the emergency situation in these two countries.
Reminder: what is the Transition Fund?
This is an initiative of the setec Foundation which, following requests from setec Group employees, decided to dedicate part of the endowment to finance projects outside the annual thematic call for projects.
The winning 2022 Transition Fund projects selected by the setec Foundation Executive Committee are those of Ateliers de l’Audace (France), Collège Notre-Dame de Nazareth (Lebanon) and Eau de Coco (Madagascar).

Les Ateliers de l’Audace is an association based in Lyon whose aim is to train people who have missed out on employment in the bicycle industry. Its social and environmental project has a real impact on the populations of Lyon’s “Quartiers des Politiques de la Ville”.
This project was co-opted by Fabienne Bardin, an employee at setec ITS, who was familiar with the association’s work and wanted to participate in the development of their mobile repair workshop project.
As a result, dozens of bicycles were repaired free of charge, and awareness was raised of repair activities as a means of reintegration, as well as of the importance of soft mobility. Five workshops were held, and Fabienne was able to testify to their success during her field visit in August 2022. Website

Collège Notre-Dame de Nazareth in Beirut is an educational institution for students from kindergarten to the end of secondary school.
In the context of Lebanon’s energy crisis, the school found itself needing to ensure its energy supply by means other than the Lebanese national grid, in order to be able to continue providing quality education to its pupils.
The project involves financing and installing solar panels on the roofs of the school’s buildings, enabling the school to be supplied with electricity while ensuring the structure’s energy transition.
The project was co-opted by Diala Abdo, an associate at setec énergie environnement. Originally from Lebanon, Diala informed the Foundation of the real needs of schools in the Lebanese capital, and acted as liaison between the school and the Foundation for the duration of the project.

The Eau de Coco association runs a social project in the south of Madagascar: “Un accueil, un toit, un nouveau départ” (“A welcome, a roof, a new start”), which involves providing a home and support for young girls in distress in Tuléar. Support from the setec Foundation has enabled 15 of the girls to be taken in.
This support is made up of several components, ensuring the safety of the girls and helping them to reintegrate into their community. It is carried out in the reception center of an NGO partner of Eau de Coco (Bel Avenir) already established in Tuléar where other children are welcomed, and for whom the importance of this program has already been proven over several years.
