Employee’s visit of the AECAC association based in Cameroun

The AECAC association (Action pour l’Economie de Communion en Afrique Centrale), based in Yaoundé (Ve), was visited on May 11 by Cynthia TUWA TANGMO (setec Afrique), the patron of its project supported by the setec Foundation. The project aims to empower and integrate internally displaced people from the North-West and South-West in the Central, Littoral and West regions of Cameroon.

This visit to the project site enabled the partners to take part in a hands-on training day, focusing on the training of internally displaced women in small trades and income-generating activities: making soap in powder, liquid or lump form.

The visit took place in several stages:

• Arrival and visit: Cynthia was welcomed by the association’s president, Mr. Steve William AZEUMO, and shown around the project site;
• Practical training: for 2 hours, the project beneficiaries completed the soap-making training they had begun the day before.

Finally, the participants were able to submit their material needs for financial support by filling in an associated form.

The visit gave sponsor Cynthia the opportunity to talk to the 50 beneficiaries of the training: “The participants we spoke to recognized the impact this training and support will have on their daily lives. A number of internally displaced people have requested the continuity of this training.
