Creation of a support and empowerment center for single mothers
2024
Cameroun
The setec Foundation is supporting the Fondation Solidarité Parents et Enfants (FSPE) in a project to set up a support and empowerment center for single mothers in Cameroon as part of the Fonds Transition 2024. Françoise-Diane Ndengue, setec Cameroun, is fully committed to the FSPE and is the project’s local sponsor.
Its overall aim is to improve the living conditions of the most disadvantaged.
The project
The FSPE’s ambition is to set up a support center for single mothers and their children.
Left to their own devices, single mothers are exposed to phenomena such as prostitution, delinquency, drugs and crime, not to mention unemployment.
The project to set up the Centre d’Encadrement et d’Autonomisation des Mères Célibataires au Cameroun (Center for the Support and Empowerment of Single Mothers in Cameroon) provides solutions to the problems thus identified and enables these women to have a spirit of work, entrepreneurship and various openings in relation to the other advantages offered by society: the only guarantee of economic, social development and self-help.
