Cyclone Chido recently hit Mayotte with exceptional violence, causing hundreds of deaths and injuries, as well as massive destruction. The damage was particularly devastating for precarious housing, which accounts for over a third of the population.
The setec group, which is particularly involved in Mayotte, is fully mobilized for this wave of solidarity. To this end, the setec Foundation is contributing 30,000 euros to the fund launched by the Fondation de France to help the stricken population.
If you would like to join this collective effort, a specific donation module has been set up.
Every contribution, whatever its size, is invaluable in helping Mayotte get back on its feet.
Created in June 2020, the setec Foundation, sheltered by the Fondation de France, is committed to supporting projects that make a concrete contribution to the ecological transition in terms of combating climate disruption, preserving biodiversity and protecting aquatic environments.
Aware of the high social and societal stakes associated with the ecological transition, it makes the fight against poverty (precariousness, energy autonomy, food, access to education and healthcare, etc.) an essential corollary of its action.
Likewise, it accompanies cultural initiatives that raise societal questions on these themes. Integration, training, education: the setec Foundation is sensitive to the social vocation of its projects.
The setec Foundation is sponsored by the Fondation de France. In this context, it has committed to an initial endowment of 200,000 euros over 5 years (2020-2024).
This sum is supplemented each year by voluntary contributions from setec Group subsidiaries and donations from individuals. Its endowment in 2023 will reach 417,000 euros.
Since its creation, the setec Foundation has donated 741,650 euros to 32 projects in 12 countries on 4 continents. Of the 32 projects, 12 have been renewed, demonstrating the setec Foundation’s long-term commitment to its structures.
The structures supported are of general interest and not-for-profit (associations, NGOs, cooperatives, social enterprises, etc.).
In addition to the funding provided by the setec Foundation, projects can benefit from the involvement of setec Group employees through the skills sponsorship of its subsidiaries. To this end, it encourages projects located close to the subsidiaries’ sites.
To reinforce the impact of its action, the setec Foundation has chosen to focus on one theme per year from among the five areas of intervention in which it has pledged to intervene between 2020 and 2024 (see “Commitments” on this page).
In addition to the financial leverage on the projects it supports, the setec Foundation has measured the social, societal and environmental impact of its actions. Discover the summary here.
This study shows that the setec Foundation is part of a generation of foundations that are human and attentive to their beneficiaries.
