Solidarity – Mayotte

Missions

Response to the Fondation de France’s call for generosity and creation of a donation module

Cyclone Chido recently struck Mayotte with exceptional force, causing hundreds of deaths and injuries, as well as massive destruction. The damage has been particularly devastating for precarious housing, which affects more than a third of the population.

In response to this urgent situation, the Fondation de France is launching a call for solidarity to assist affected communities. Drawing on its experience during hurricanes Irma, José, and Maria in 2017 in the Caribbean, and thanks to its local partners in the Indian Ocean, the foundation is swiftly deploying essential actions to support victims: providing shelter, psychological support, and assistance through this ordeal. Its interventions are tailored to address the most urgent needs and critical situations.

Beyond the immediate emergency response, the foundation will focus its efforts on concrete projects to help families rebuild their lives: securing shelter, accessing basic equipment, and restoring economic or social activities. Support will also be provided to small artisans and farmers whose tools and means of livelihood have been destroyed.

The setec group, which is particularly engaged in Mayotte, is fully committed to this solidarity effort. In this regard, the Fondation setec is contributing €30,000 to assist affected populations.

If you would like to join this collective effort, a dedicated donation platform has been set up.

Every contribution, no matter its size, is invaluable in helping Mayotte recover.
