THE TRANSITION FUND: An initiative for setec employees

Since its creation in June 2020, several setec employees have submitted associative projects to the setec Foundation, led by structures they know (associations, NGOs, public research establishments, etc.).

However, not all of them fell within the annual theme of the setec Foundation’s 2020 call for projects (the fight against climate change in France), and so could not be supported.

However, these projects were in line with the Foundation’s overall mission to promote environmental and social transition. That’s why in April 2021, almost a year after the setec Foundation was created, the Transition Fund was established by the setec Foundation Executive Committee.

A fund in collaboration with employees

To increase the number of projects that can be supported, the Executive Committee of the setec Foundation has decided to reserve part of the annual endowment for projects led by non-profit general interest structures (associations, NGOs, public establishments, etc.), proposed by setec employees (France and international).

In addition to the annual call for projects, the setec Foundation has set up this “Transition” Fund to enable employees who wish to do so to act as intermediaries for projects they feel should be supported by the Foundation.

This fund has made it possible to support :

2021 : Palana Environnement, l’Entreprise des Possibles and EHFA
2022 : Les Ateliers de l’Audace, Collège Notre-Dame-de-Nazareth in Beirut and Eau de Coco
2023: Travail et Vie, Rêv’Elles and Greenlandia
2024: Action pour l’Economie de Communion in Central Africa, Fondation Solidarité Parents et Enfants, Femmes en Mouvement, Mano a Mano, Les Petites Cantines Romans-sur-Isère, La Vilaine Fabrique

Which organizations are involved?

  • Non-profit-making structures, with no private enrichment. The setec Foundation will support any public-interest organization (associations, NGOs, public institutions, local authorities, cooperatives, etc.); particular attention will be paid to public-interest student organizations.
  • Structures that meet the criteria for financial sponsorship.
  • Structures whose “robustness” can be studied. The Foundation is inclined to support more recent structures.
  • Structures located in an area where the Group and its subsidiaries are established.

What projects are potentially eligible?

  • The project must be in line with the setec Foundation’s mission to promote environmental and social transition.
  • The setec Foundation will not support projects that have negative environmental, societal or socio-economic impacts.

What to do?

Throughout the year, setec employees can submit projects by filling in a form, which is accessible only via the setec group intranet and reserved for employees.

The setec Foundation Executive Committee evaluates projects twice a year, usually in spring and autumn.

If you do not know any employees of the setec group and would like to submit an application, please contact the setec Foundation to present your project (contact@fondationsetec.org).
